Welcome to Raksha. This Privacy Policy explains how Raksha ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use our Raksha IoT tracking mobile application (the "App"). The App provides real-time location tracking, route history, SOS alerts and related safety features.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information needed to provide and improve the App. Types of data we collect include:

  • Identity & Contact: name, email, phone number, profile photo.
  • Authentication: username, password hash, multi-factor tokens.
  • Location Data: Real-time GPS coordinates, route history, timestamps, and geofencing events while tracking is active.
  • Device & Usage: device model, OS version, unique device identifier, IP address, push notification token, app usage metrics and crash logs.
  • Emergency Data: SOS messages, emergency contacts, medical flags (only if voluntarily provided).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate and maintain tracking features and SOS alerts.
  • Authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent abuse.
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests.
  • Improve services: analytics, diagnostics, and feature development.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. Lawful Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data on the following lawful bases:

  • Consent: for location tracking, marketing communications and cookies where applicable.
  • Contract: to provide the App and its features you requested.

5. When and With Whom We Share Data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Authorized users: guardians, organization admins or other users explicitly linked to your account.
  • Service providers: cloud hosting, push notifications providers, analytics, SMS/email gateways — under contract to protect your data.
  • Emergency services: when required to respond to an immediate safety threat or lawful request.
  • Legal requests: to comply with subpoenas, court orders or applicable law.

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences and analytics. You can control cookies through your device or browser settings. For analytics and advertising choices, use the consent management controls available in the App.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Services or as required by law. Example retention periods:

Administrators can request longer retention for operational reasons. Adjust these values to match your policies and local law.

8. Security

We implement administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted transport (TLS), database encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and periodic security audits. However, no system is completely secure — if we experience a data breach we will notify affected users and authorities as required by law.

9. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to:

  • Access, rectify or delete your personal data.
  • Export your data in a machine-readable format (JSON/CSV).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing (including direct marketing).
  • Withdraw consent for location tracking at any time from within the App.

10. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 16 (or higher age as required locally) unless parental consent is provided. If you believe we have collected data for a child without consent, contact us to request deletion.

We may transfer personal data to countries with different data protection laws. When transferring data we use standard contractual clauses, adequate safeguards or rely on user consent where applicable.

12. California Residents (CCPA)
